Learn how to create and edit pivot tables to analyse large lists of data with multiple views and calculated fields using drag and drop. You should have a good understanding of Excel.

What is the course about?

Come and learn this popular data analysis tool. Use drag and drop to easily create multiple views, calculated fields and calculated items to analyse your spreadsheet data.

What will we cover?

• Preparing and structuring your data
• Creating and formatting a Pivot table
• Creating a Pivot chart
• Adding calculated fields and items
• Grouping Data
• Filtering Data.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Use Pivot tables with confidence to analyse your data.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

An understanding of the basic features of excel such as the general layout of a spreadsheet and entering data is required.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Each student has their own computer. Presentations will be made using computers, whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes. Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No, just bring a notepad and pen.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Excel: expert, Excel: financial modelling, Excel: analysing data, Excel: advanced, Introduction to VBA.
