This course covers various ways of manipulating Microsoft Excel so that it is easier to work with, and will also cover various aspects of the program to give you knowledge of the different ways you can view, amend and present your data.
What will we cover?
• Features of the program such as basic formatting, subtotalling and conditional formatting. • Basic formulas and how to use them efficiently • Tips on how to quickly sort, fill and view data. • How to protect your spreadsheets • Inserting pivot tables and charts.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This course is aimed at people who have some familiarity with Excel, perhaps but not necessarily using it regularly, but who would like to gain more knowledge. You should be relatively comfortable working with the basics of spreadsheet software such as entering data.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
There will be demonstrations from the tutor and practical tasks to complete which will help you to understand the material being presented. There will be no work outside of the class.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Aurica Jalba has been lecturing in Microsoft 365, from beginner to advanced level, for over 12 years at City Lit. She lectures in Business Statistics and Economics at the University of East London and delivers Bloomberg training to undergraduate and MBA students. Aurica developed her passion for teaching during her university studies and believes education should be accessible to all, fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports students inside and outside the classroom. Aurica is known for her patience, dedication and clear teaching style. She has designed several courses at City Lit, delivered bespoke and corporate training, and has been Coordinator for the Business and Technology Department since September 2019. Aurica holds a Diploma in Ecology, a BSc in Economics, and an MSc in Finance and Risk. She is an Associate of the Chartered Banker Institute (CBI) and has completed the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certification, among others. In 2016, she achieved 3rd place while leading a team in the UK University Trading Challenge. In 2015, she contributed to a research project assessing the feasibility of a £1 million investment in Ghana.
