What is the course about?
This one day course presents an exciting opportunity to try drawing from the nude model in a supportive class with plenty of advice and encouragement. Learn simple approaches to drawing the human form in line and tone. This course could be a useful way of gauging whether you would like to do a longer course.

What will we cover?
With guidance you will draw life studies using a variety of timescales and approaches. The course will give a taster of basic aspects of life drawing such as how to draw structure in the body, how to use measurement to achieve more accurate proportion and tone.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
- make studies of the human body
- draw more accurately from observation
- make drawings of the figure in line and tone
- use a variety of drawing materials.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This course is intended for beginners and for those with some drawing experience who want to extend skills and confidence.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions to support demonstrations, hand-outs and for health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
Please look at the rest of the course outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support in your English and Maths skills to help you to take part fully in this class.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Tutors will give presentations, demonstrations, develop discussion and you will work both individually and in groups.
