What is the course about?
This is a level 2 award in skills for professions in health and social care. It is for learners wishing to explore vocational study alongside studying units that will enhance their employability and learning skills. We recommend this course for learners who have or are completing one of our other courses and would like to start applying for jobs.
What will we cover?
Topics covered include; searching and applying for a job; interview skills; what it is like to work in health and social care and basic first aid principles. You will make a plan and actively search for next steps including voluntary work, employment or further learning.

By the end of this course you should be able to...
By the end of the course you will be able to search for and apply for jobs in health and social care. You will have built on your communication and interview skills. You will have an understanding of the different jobs in health and social care and what they entail.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is a level 2 course and we ask for a minimum of level 1 in literacy. This is assessed in the literacy quiz. It is also beneficial if you are or you have completed one of our other courses in care and support. You will need to committ to attending all of the lessons.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You will be taught in a variety of ways to suit different learning styles. There will be group discussion, presentations, role play and practical work. You may also have visitors or watch videos.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
There are no extra costs, you just need to bring a pen and paper.
When I've finished, what course can I do next?
When you have finished you can apply for jobs that interest you using your application and interview skills. You could also join one of our other courses to further your learning.
