This course aims to help you practise listening and speaking in French and improve your cultural knowledge.
What will we cover?
Each session will be about a Parisian borough or ‘arrondissement’: through videos, maps, and the browsing of major cultural institution websites, you will gain an overview of what there is to see and where to enjoy today’s cultural life, to make the most of it during your next trip to Paris.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Students should have a very good knowledge of the language and its grammar and be able to demonstrate both written and oral fluency. They should have studied French for more than 5 years.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.

Bonjour! Je m'appelle Anais et je viens d'un petit village près de Nice. I have an MA in Literature, I qualified as a teacher in France before living abroad. I have been teaching French as a foreign language for the past 14 years to students of different age groups. I believe that, above all, learning should be a joy. I provide well-structured, clearly aimed lessons with authentic resources to accommodate various learning profiles and learning preferences. I understand the need for students to build their confidence in a relaxed learning atmosphere, with the right level of challenge, guided by constructive feedback. I encourage my students to carry on learning independently, for e.g. with quality online resources. I like to feel intellectually stimulated. Hopefully, my many interests provide the variety and depth to keep my students interested!
