What is the course about?

Learn basic Irish sentences and discover aspects of the rich Irish culture.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

Basic sentences in Irish.
Irish traditions around Christmas and other occasions.
Short Irish legends.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- talk about Irish festivities
- understand Irish traditions.

You will be asked to participate actively in plenary, small groups or pairs activities. You will be asked to repeat words and sentences.

Clare O’Sullivan

Clare O’ Sullivan is an Irish Gaelic teacher who was born and grew up in the southeast of Ireland. She holds a BA in Irish and French and has a PGDE. She has worked in secondary schools in Ireland and Irish Centres in London and has also taught online to private students. Clare is passionate about her native language, as she understands that it depends on the effort of the people to secure its future. She also likes the fact that it is a fun, interesting and unusual language that offers a challenge to learners. What she likes about adult students is their willingness to get stuck in, collaborate with their classmates and work together as a group. It’s always a team effort!
