What is the course about?
Submitting to poetry magazines and publishers can feel like a long and gruelling experience. There are approaches however of ensuring a greater chance of having your poems accepted for publication. This fun day workshop is designed to help students ensure their work has the best chance of publication and how to research possible publications, publishers and contests that are the best fit for their output.

- Understand how to select which poems to submit.
- Explore approaches to polishing and editing your work.
- Understand how to research opportunities in the poetry market.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This course is designed for students who have written a number of poems on our intermediate or advanced classes, or for poets who have other previous experience of writing poetry.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You will be taught through a mix of pair work, group work, tutor instruction, short writing tasks, text analysis and editing tasks.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
Please bring 8-10 poems that you have written and some writing materials such as pen, paper or laptop.
