What is the course about?
This is an introductory 'taster' session and will introduce students to history and politics courses here at the City Lit. In the taster, learn a bit about history and its relation to current political events.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
- Begin to feel more confident about what is involved in the study of history and/or politics here at the City Lit.
- Become famililar with the history and politics courses on offer at the City Lit for the current (Autum 2018) term and what will be on offer in various history/politics topic sub-sections for the following terms (2018-19 academic year).
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is an introductory course. No previous knowledge is required. However an enthusiasm for learning and an open and critical mind will enhance your enjoyment and benefit from this course.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Lecture and also be prepared to contribute to class discussion and good natured debate.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
None. But if you would like to bring a pen and paper for any notes, please feel free to do so.
