What is the course about?
How to improve the way you come across on Zoom video and give you the confidence to make adjustments to your current set up.
This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.
What will we cover?
Where to place your camera, how to frame the shot, eyeline, simple lighting tips and mic advice, improving the background of the shot, how to use green screen in Zoom, using your voice to best effect, clear diction, on screen energy, performance skills.

By the end of this course you should be able to...
Present confidently to Zoom
Explain how basic lighting, sound and camera tips can improve Zoom calls
Use vocal warm-ups and clear diction techniques to improve voice and performance.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is a beginners' course. In order to get the most from the course you will be able to:
• Speak English fluently
• Communicate in group situations
• Give and receive constructive feedback
• Read and respond to a range of texts
• Take course notes for your own use.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Tutor-led discussions, interactive participation, practical demonstrations and exercises in class.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
A Zoom link will be sent to you prior to the course. Please use a laptop or PC rather than phone in order to get the most out of the teaching. You will need to be in a quiet, well-lit room with a good internet connection.
