Jo Sealy is the founder of The Black Artisans, a platform dedicated to increasing the visibility of Black Designers and Makers. Jo also serves as Vice Chair on the board of trustees for Heritage Crafts, the UK national charity for heritage crafts.

What is the course about?

In this Talk, Jo will be sharing the story behind The Black Artisans and how, she uses her photography to preserve and promote Black Artisans who are successfully forging careers in crafts, the impact it has made on the industry, and how her work has culminated in a new book due to be released in the autumn.

What will we cover?

Jo will discuss her mission to enlighten, educate and inspire people to explore crafts as a potential field of work or, as a hobby to support their mental and physical wellbeing and also, celebrate the journey of those who are under-represented in the world of crafts.
