What is the course about?

Dickens's tale of ghosts, redemption and Christmas, has thrilled and chilled audiences since its publication in 18443.The story of Ebenezer Scrooge, the miserable miser and his transformation over the Christmas period has become a perennial festive favourite. We will explore the actual byways and alleyways of the novella, and how Dickens’s vision of Christmas has influenced our own Yuletide Traditions. We’ll look at the locations, themes & characters from cheery Bob Cratchit through the ghastly ghosts to tender-hearted Tiny Tim. ”God bless us, everyone!”

A basic knowledge of the story of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.
An ability to participate in a two-hour guided tour.

A walk in the City of London
