What is the course about?
This course will focus on Indian festival of colour-Holi. The significance, story, rituals and celebration of this festival will be shared along with related music and its influence on popular culture- Bollywood.
What will we cover?
The significance of this festival, its story and its celebration. You will also have exposure to related language, music, food and dance.

-Understand the significance of Holi festival
-Learn the story of the festival
-Learn about the related specific language, music, dance and food
-Learn about the actual celebration-rituals
-Learn the Hindi words for – food items, rituals and music.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is a beginner’s course. No particular skill is required, but a spirit of enquiry! The course will be taught in English.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course will consist of a presentation, handouts and there will be samples of the Holi colours for familiarisation along with audio and video clips. There will be no work outside the course.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
There is no other cost. A pad and a pen for notes might be useful.
When I've finished, what course can I do next?
Attend Beginner’s Hindi Language course and learn more about the diverse Indian culture and language, as well as prepare yourself for a trip to India.
