  3. Jazz: play the music of Wayne Shorter

    In this practical course for all instrumentalists, we will delve into the wonderful music of the great composer and improviser, Wayne Shorter. Explore some of his vast back catalogue that includes compositions written when he was working as part of Art Blakey and Jazz Messengers (he eventually became their primary composer), the Miles Davis Quintet, and Weather Report. Learn how to negotiate the interesting harmonic twists and turns of his music while learning some of his wonderful and distinctive melodies. N.B. bass and drum places taken.

    Do you want to develop counselling skills for paid or voluntary work? This course includes occasional weekend sessions which you will be required to join and one compulsory residential trip away.







    In order to apply for this course, please ensure that:



    • you have (or will have) completed an in person introductory counselling course of 30 hours, with an attendance record of at least 80% (within the last three years)



    OR



    • you have completed an in person introductory counselling course of 30 hours with an attendance record of at least 70%



    AND



    • you have completed an in person ‘Counselling introduction: advanced’ course (or equivalent) with an attendance record of at least 80% (within the last three years)



    • you are able to speak and write fluently in English (level 2/GCSE).
