What is the course about?
This hands-on JavaScript course provides an introduction to the features provided by JavaScript and its more popular library and supporting architecture and patterns. You will get the skills needed to use JavaScript in web applications and create rich client websites.
Participants who will attend the full course will receive a City Lit certificate of attendance electronically for their CV or CPD records. The certificate will show your name, course title and dates of the course you have attended.

You will understand the different concepts involved when developing websites using JavaScript.
This course will create a solid base for creating rich client websites.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Knowledge of HTML/CSS at intermediate level or any other programming language.
You should have good general computing skills. You should be able to follow spoken instructions, read written instructions and information, and discuss work with your tutor in English.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course is entirely practical. Students will be able to test and develop during the course.

Alexander has 22 years of experience in Software Engineering. His background is in Computer Systems & Data Communications (MSc Telematics).He is also a trained Mechanical Engineer (MSc Engineering), and has a BA in Russian Language. He has been teaching JavaScript at different levels at the City Lit as part-time Tutor more than two decades now, and classify himself as an experienced Tutor. He helped in the setting up of the Web Programming Courses in the early 2000. Other courses he has taught in the past include PHP levels one and two, e-Commerce, XML, and MySQL Alexander is an information Technologist and works in industry as a Technical Executive. JavaScript is his bread and butter. It is also the backbone of mainstream programming, and is currently used at both the Front and Backend environments in web development. The course begins by giving students the basic concepts, understanding, logical sequences, best practices in programming principles and gradually leads to challenging tasks. A sound knowledge of JavaScript is a gateway to learning other programming languages.
