Italian beginners: module 3 intensive is a one-week course that will cover the same material as a standard Italian beginners: module 3 course, but it will do so more quickly for those of you who wish to start second-year Italian in the new academic year.

What is the course about?

On this course you will further increase your confidence by consolidating previous knowledge while continuing to expand your grammar and vocabulary. You'll also find yourself improving your speaking and reading skills so that you can better understand spoken and written Italian.

What will we cover?

Based on chapters 7-10 of Nuovo Espresso 1 (libro studente, published by Alma Edizioni - Italian version).

Topics: routine; shopping for food; working hours; talking about families; likes and dislikes

Grammar: direct pronouns; reflexive verbs; adverbs of frequency; past tense.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

-shop for food
-talk about a typical day
-talk about working hours
-talk about families
-talk about what you did at the week-end.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Beginners: module 3 - You should have completed Italian beginners modules 1 and 2 or have studied Italian for two terms (about 40 teaching hours).

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.
