Even though this is 'entry level' Japanese, don't expect to to be a 'live' version of something you can learn from reading a guidebook. This course will help you communicate more competently than just basic greetings, vocabulary and pointing. If you can take to all in it will definitely make life easier in Japan and make your hosts feel more confident to talk to you. I know Japanese people really appreciate your efforts and NEVER make you feel embarrassed for getting it wrong. As a visitor to Japan I think it's courteous to try and learn more than just the basic necessities.

Kiyomi started teaching Japanese in 2002. Since then, she has taught Japanese in the adult education sector at the various institutions and universities. She joined City Lit in 2013 and she has been teaching at all levels, from Beginners to Advanced classes. She’d like to spread her passion for the Japanese language to learners and believes that learning about a different cultural perspective is just as important and enjoyable as learning about the language itself.
