What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This course is designed for learners at JLPT N2 level or above. It is ideal for those preparing for the JLPT N2 exam or who have recently passed it and can generally understand Japanese newspapers, online news articles, and news broadcasts.
The course is also well suited to university students of Japanese, as well as those who have lived, worked, or studied in Japan and wish to maintain and further develop their language skills after returning to the UK or their home country. Participants should be comfortable communicating in Japanese and eager to engage with authentic, real-world content.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
This course is characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work to discuss of topics. Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning but also to prepare for the next sessions.
A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
