Knowing how to handle large amounts of data, analyse it effectively and then present the findings are essential workplace skills. A recent study found 88% of employers want employees with data analysis skills. This intermediate Excel course will help you develop these skills by focusing on common workplace tasks and problems that require some of the more complex Excel functions. You will focus on how to handle large amounts of data and convert it into usable, valuable information. You will develop your skills so you can work with different formulae and functions to create for example automated budgets that take into account variable conditions. You will learn how to link data across spreadsheets and also calculate and present trends. You will work with pivot tables and learn why you use them. By the end of the course you will be confident you have the skills and insight to handle, analyse and present data for a range of circumstances.

This course will give you the skills and confidence to create a well-written and well-presented Word documents. We will focus on how to create and write short documents such as letters and forms so you can format them correctly, arrange the text and layout appropriately and add footers and headers and other layout features. We will look at how to use tables, insert them into documents and format them. We will also practise inserting images and altering those images. Finally, we will practise printing documents so that the documents maintain their formatting and managing your files so they are easy to find. Do you need to gain a national maths qualification to show you have a good level of mathematical competence? Functional Skills Level 2 Maths shows employers and others that your maths skills are at a good level and that you can use skills to solve complex issues in a variety of situations. You will develop your maths to become a problem-solver, analyser and decision-maker.
You must complete the Getting Ready for Maths functional skills (level 2) course before doing the full qualification course.
(Assessments including mock tests will take place in the City Lit building and you need to be able to attend these in person as required).
