Continue consolidating your Italian and find yourself speaking with increasing confidence on this communicative course for students who have studied Italian for year and are now starting their second year. The emphasis is on developing your oral skills. Suitable if you have completed 'Italian beginners' or have an equivalent level (about a year of part-time study). Italian 3 lower: module 1 is for learners who are at a solid intermediate level (CEFR B1). On this course you'll be learning more grammar structures and broadening your vocabulary, while also improving your reading and listening skills through exposure to increasingly complex material.

Italian 2 upper is our third-year Italian course, so this year you'll be progressing through lower intermediate Italian towards intermediate. You'll find yourself learning new ways to express yourself more accurately and confidently. The emphasis is on the development of your oral skills. This is the third module (or term) of Italian beginners, so you will be completing your first year of Italian and getting ready to progress to year 2 (Italian 2 lower).

An opportunity to gain an A-level qualification in one year. You will study topics relating to the society, history and culture of contemporary Italy and will develop relevant exam skills. Suitable if you have studied Italian part time for about five years. The course fee includes non-refundable exam costs payable in advance and is payable in instalments. This course is a popular choice for learners who feel they will benefit from the discipline of an exam course, knowing that they have a clear goal in sight at the end of the course.

IMPORTANT:

This course will be delivered online. However, a mock exam will be held in late February or early March at our central London college. You will therefore need to make sure that you make the necessary arrangements so that you can attend. The exact dates will be posted when the mock exam has been set up.

The official exams will also take place at our Covent Garden college during the months of May and June (exact dates to be confirmed). Please note that the end date of the course may change depending on when the official exams are scheduled.

* Please note that, subject to government guidance, we might need to implement a contingency plan to be followed in the event of exam cancellations.

**City Lit is an adult education college, so we are only able to accept candidates who are aged 19 or over.

This course for beginners is suitable if you already speak a Romance language such as Spanish, French, Portuguese or Romanian. It might also be suitable if you would like to learn at a much faster pace. This course, together with Italian rapidamente: module 2 and Italian rapidamente: module 3 covers years one and two (Italian 1 and Italian 2 Lower) of our Italian programme. Expect more homework than in other courses.

Italian 2 upper: module 3 is the final term of third-year Italian. This course is for learners who have been studying Italian 2 upper and who have done the first two modules (module 1 and 2). You'll be introduced to some key grammar topics this term such as the congiuntivo (the subjunctive).
