This course is about how to paint - materials, techniques, tones, colours, proportions and spaces It is about looking at what is being painted and not being distracted by previously acquired knowledge of similar subjects. The course is a planned evolution over six sessions of six hours - mostly standing at the easel - and you can't really afford to miss anything. The tutor is demanding but always encouraging. You learn a great deal about painting but don't expect to come away with a Velasques "Odalisque" to hang over the fireplace..
