What is the course about?
In this fast paced course you will explore and use marketing tools to develop a book marketing plan, reach readers and customers and measure results. We will also look at online and offline communication and marketing strategies used to promote or launch your book.
You can choose to attend this course either live online or in person.
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.

• Identify marketing tools to position and promote your book
• Draft a marketing communications plan and content to launch or promote your book
• Find relevant offline and online marketing channels
• Have ideas on how to market your book effectively on a limited budget
• Identify marketing tools used to measure results.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This course is for beginners but you should have experience of using Word/Excel documents and good internet skills. You should also be able to follow spoken instructions, read written instructions and information, and discuss work with your tutor.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You will be taught online, using a range of techniques including short lectures, demonstrations, group and individual work. You will complete practical exercises on computer and Google Classroom. You will be given homework each week.
Learning materials will be posted on Google Classroom, City Lit will contact you with joining instructions for you to complete before the course starts.
