What is the course about?

This course gives an insight into meditation and what it can do for you. It covers the theory as well as providing
techniques with guidance for the practical application in your daily life. The course will break down the basics of
meditation and you will learn a variety of different meditation techniques and exercises as well as build a programme to create an effective practice for releasing stress and cultivating a direct relationship with peace. This is a live online course delivered via Zoom. You would need a PC/laptop/tablet/iPad and a stable internet connection. We will send you the link for each class.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone can be used if you don't have a computer but please note the experience may be less optimal.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

The theory of what meditation is and what it can do for you.
Simple two part guided exercise for watching the mind.
Explore how the mechanism of the mind operates and how this leads to taking on stress.
How to calm the mind and redirect attention onto the silent backdrop.
Each session will include a mantra style technique which will form part of a meditation programme to build up a greater awareness of the mind and body. With instruction on how to use the techniques most effectively.
You will also learn about breath meditation, the power of visualisation and other guided exercises to uncover the
workings of the mind.
How to make it easier to recognise when you’re taking on stress and how to overcome this ingrained habit.

By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Meditate effectively on your own and increase the level of calm and joy in your life
- Gain some insight and mastery of your thinking mind
- Utilise the breath to regulate emotion and calm the mind and body
- Deepen your connection with peace and improve your level of well-being.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is suitable for beginners to meditation and those who want to deepen and expand their practice. You are required to read sentences, follow verbal instructions and extract information from handouts.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Through lectures, guided meditations, exercises, group discussion and handouts.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No other costs. You would need to have a quiet place in your home, a chair to sit on or a cushion if you prefer to sit on a floor.

Sally Page, Meera, is an experienced meditation teacher who trained with The Bright Path Ishayas in 2012. She teaches 1-2-1 or group courses & workshops inperson nationally & online globally. As a practising Ishaya monk, Sally is known by the name Meera & benefits from ongoing direct communication with her Spiritual Teacher. Her own daily meditation practice continues to develop & refine her experience & capacity to teach meditation & mindfulness, as well as relaying the art of stillness & presence, to others.
