What is the course about?

This course aims to extend your experience of mixed-media and composition, with traditional materials (pencils, charcoal, pastels), and the manipulation of collage, paint and paper relief. Looking at artist’s work and developing personal themes you will experiment with materials, processes and image-making, in an expressive and creative way. Some drawing experience would be an advantage.
Projects may be interpreted in either an abstract or more literal manner.

The course may appeal to anyone interested in mixed-media drawing, but also suggests common links with fine art, sculpture and textiles.

Who knew textiles could be so funky! I learnt a lot and so much was packed into the program which nevertheless remained well structured throughout. The tutor is inspirational and encouraging with a great attitude; this is also reflected in the positive atmosphere in the classroom. Highly recommended.
