What is the course about?
This course aims to revise and build on the basics covered at level 1, expanding the students' vocabulary, their command of functional phrases and developing and understanding of more complex structures.
What will we cover?
Leisure time and hobbies, entertainment, Greek culture and lifestyle, talking about Greek Easter
Grammar: subjunctive simple, imperative simple, adverbs of frequency, expressing preference, revision of active verbs (present, past simple and future tenses).
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Make arrangements to meet people
Accept and refuse, giving reasons
Talk about personal interests
Talk about your hobbies
Talk about different kinds of greek music
Make travel arrangements
Show an awareness of customs and traditions observed during the greek easter.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Level 2 course - Students should have completed one year of beginners Greek and Modern Greek 2 lower: module 1 or have an equivalent knowledge of the language.

You will also need to be able to respond to simple instructions and read course documents in English and be at ease with the use of number for daily activities (e.g. using money, telling the time, etc).
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course is based on the communicative approach:
- active students’ interaction
- emphasis on speaking and listening skills
- pair and group work
- role plays
- use of realia, pictures and authentic material
- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate
Please note, students are expected to participate in oral classroom activities and to do some homework as and when required.
