What is the course about?

This hands on course will enable you to confidently locate muscles, bones and how your client’s posture can impact upon them. Through the sessions we will look at ….

What will we cover?

• Assessing your client (standing examination and palpation)
• Muscles, nerves and key blood vessels of the body (excluding the head)
• Biomechanics of the body and how they can impact your treatment.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Confidently identify skeletal muscles and how they impact on your client’s presentation.
Apply strategies to assess your client.
Locate key bony landmarks which will aid in assessing your client.
Discuss the nerve plexuses and how they can impact on your client’s presentation.
Review key vascular supplies and how they could impact upon your client’s presentation.
Identify how the mechanics of the body can impact upon presentations.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is designed for those who hold a level 3 or above qualification in Massage, Aromatherapy or Sports massage.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will be taught in a variety of ways including:
• Class discussions and presentations
• Hands on demonstrations
• Pair and small group work
• Flipped learning.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Bring massage equipment (couch supplied)
Suitable clothing to give and receive massage
Pen and paper for making notes.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?
