NLP: a foundation course

Course Dates: 26/01/20 - 16/02/20
Time: 10:30 - 16:30
Location: KS - Keeley Street

Learn to help yourself and others in a fun and effective way. Build your neuro linguistic programming (NLP) toolkit, including core principles, methodology, maps and techniques, and use it to make a difference.

What is the course about?

This NLP foundation course takes place across four consecutive Sundays. As well as providing a general introduction to NLP (overall philosophy, core principles and methodology), the course concentrates on self-help, on making personal change meaningful and effective and acquiring the tools to do so. It also offers powerful insights into how to help others. The intervals between sessions can be used to apply the learning and improve or resolve personal issues.

What will we cover?

The course covers the core philosophy of NLP, the overall methodology and its underlying principles (the four pillars of NLP, well-formed outcomes, sensory acuity, perceptual positions, states and anchors), as well as practical applications and techniques generated through the above. The range of techniques taught will be appropriate to the group identity and issues.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Own an insight and understanding of NLP that will prepare you to proceed further in this field if you wish
- See clearly how the theoretical structure of NLP translates itself in very practical applications
- Use effectively specific NLP processes and techniques for yourself, and others if appropriate.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is particularly suitable for those who have previously attended a shorter Introduction to NLP class. It is also suitable for those who have very little or no knowledge of NLP and are curious to understand how it can be applied to one's everyday life. To benefit from this course, you need to have a reasonable level of English language in terms of understanding and speaking. If you are unsure please see an advisor.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The sessions will include theory input, demonstrations, group discussions, practice in small groups and pairs, and experiential assignments between classes to integrate and test your learning. The course is experiential first (with appropriate theoretical support) and participation/practice is important.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

There will be no additional costs. The course fee covers a number of hand-outs provided by the tutor.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Some information and guidance will be offered by the tutor, but you may like to consider the following City Lit courses:
PG706 - What motivates you: an NLP approach
PG602 - Change your behaviour using NLP
PG670 - NLP at work
PG806 - Managing internal stree: introduction to REBT.
