What is the course about?

The course will enable you to develop awareness of the underlying unmet needs that lead to conflict, and use NVC Skills to manage and prevent difficulties in interpersonal situations. For example, a positive intention in communicating with another can lead to conflict if the other person experiences it as criticism or accusation because of the language used. We look at both the principles and concepts of NVC, which are based on active listening, the intention to do no harm, and staying in connection with another person through empathic communication. It will support your relationships in the family, with friends, colleagues, and daily interaction with strangers.

This course will develop your interpersonal skills, empathy, self awareness, and confidence. It will also support you to progress onto other Nonviolent Communication courses, personal development, psychology, counselling, or care qualifications.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone can be used if you don't have a computer but please note the experience may be less optimal.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.
