As of January 2026, the French government will require citizenship applicants to have passed a B2 language proficiency examination. French DELF B2 is one of the most officially recognised qualifications. 

This online course will prepare you for the exam of the 'Diplôme d'études en langue française' (DELF), B2 level, in June 2027. Suitable if you have studied French for about four to five years. Ideal if you would like to live, study or work in France.

Please note that exam fees are not included in the advertised fees. The course can be paid in instalments.

This course is designed for advanced students to have conversations in Chinese based on current news stories in a small group environment.

In this illustrated talk, Sarah Wise - author of The Italian Boy: Murder and Grave Robbery in 1830s London - takes us on a tour of some of London’s lesser-known graveyards, and surveys some of the highly unsentimental folk who profited from other people’s deaths and family bereavements. Some of them even turned to murder.

This course will introduce and discuss a selection of short stories by Katherine Mansfield. Noting, ‘the mind I love most must have wild places, a tangled orchard where dark damsons drop in the heavy grass, an overgrown little wood, the chance of a snake or two, a pool that nobody fathomed the depth of, and paths threaded with flowers planted by the mind’, Mansfield’s approach to art is to embrace hidden depths, to seek untamed and unhindered aspects lurking in the shadows, writing with a wild surmise in an attempt to find new literary vistas. Similarly, describing herself as ‘an alien’, we will consider her self-asserted feeling of strangeness as an outsider, and how this might manifest itself in her fictional work.

For advanced learners of Mandarin Chinese to improve their speaking, listening and command of the Chinese language at a higher level (equivalent to HSK-4). Suitable if you have studied Chinese part-time for at least 5-6 years/ full-time for more than two years and have been  self-learning and using Chinese occasionally in life/work or if you have passed HSK level-3 or equivalent (1500 vocabulary items or more).Students should be able to read Chinese characters.

Come to improve your Welsh through reading a couple of short novels. This course aims at developing your understanding of the Welsh language as well as the pronunciation.
