This course aims to give you a basic understanding of Contemporary dance that is influenced by other styles. The course provides an understanding of the basic principles, techniques and style.

A study and sharing group for experienced jazz players with a good working knowledge of harmony and experience of improvising. We will focus on in-depth listening and transcription of recorded examples by jazz musicians. Sessions will include demonstration and performance opportunities. Course dates: 15 October, 12 November, 3 December, 21 January, 18 February, 17 March 2023.

Discover the pleasure of playing in small, mixed instrumental ensembles, one per part, in a variety of repertoire. For classical instrumentalists at grade 5/6 or above. Due to the demanding nature of most piano parts, pianists should play at Grade 8 level or higher. Good sight reading skills and experience in chamber music are required. Break week: 29 Oct 2023.

The Charleston is a fun, easy and uplifting dance and this solo dancing course will have you moving with speed, vitality, and expression. With toe tapping Jazz music from the 1920s and beyond you will learn original Charleston dance steps and moves, improve your musicality and improvisation. A great way to get fit whilst learning a unique and impressive new skill.

A dynamic and vibrant class that combines West African dance and music with some Contemporary dance influences. The movements, energy and music will leave you energised and rejuvenated.

Improve the quality of your voice and standard of speech; relaxation and alignment; breath capacity/control; articulation and expressiveness. This course will be taught in the college and is a particularly good introduction for those starting regular Voice classes on the Foundation in Drama course.

Having an awareness of space and presence and utilising the body to help carve engaging, full-born characters is vital in theatre, whether this be during improvisation, delivering a monologue or throughout the process of a performance. It's important to have the tools to do this!



This course aims to give every member an introductory “toolkit” you can take away with you, freeing your body, exploring character technique, enhancing your improvisational and performance intuition and becoming confident in your craft.

Investigate the role and function of Dramatherapy as a working model on this introductory course. Looking at a range of drama tools that can be used in therapeutic settings, you will develop some of the essential skills and use a range of methods to engage with others. Fun and insightful and packed with tools you can use, this is a great introduction to applying theatrical processes to therapy.

This series of classes led by Francis Angol and Orley Quick, will explore different approaches to the practice of Contemporary dance, working through different styles and techniques. Each session has been designed to give students an understanding of the fundamental principle and techniques of each approach taken. Working through fundamentals of movement, properties and the stylistic features of form.







By the end of the course, we hope you will have gained greater confidence, knowledge and appreciation of Contemporary Dance practice and be able to differentiate between the various styles and technique you may encounter.

Ideal if you know the basics of music production but want your music to sound more polished and professional. Tips and tricks for mixing, using compressors, limiters, EQ, reverb and other devices.

If you have completed Sing jazz 1, or who have equivalent experience and ability in the jazz idiom, join this class to develop your jazz conception, solo performance and expand your repertoire. Continues to Sing jazz 3 next term.

Our ensemble for proficient jazz players to improve and maintain sight reading and section work, playing music from the classic era of Big Bands plus contemporary and original arrangements. Maintain and extend your playing skills on our advanced course. Repertoire is pop, jazz and World music, and we will learn and rehearse sax ensemble arrangements.
