Piano workshops

Piano Workshops in London

We offer intermediate to advanced masterclass-style piano workshops from level 4 to level 8+. Piano workshops are taught around an acoustic piano and focus on tutor-led repertoire choices.

(If you are an absolute beginner start with our Piano/Keyboards 1A course.)

To see our full sequence of piano classes listed in order from beginners upwards please visit our blog: Choosing a piano class at City Lit.

We provide the instruments

Based in the heart of Covent Garden, we have two Model D Steinway pianos (for advanced and repertoire classes), and several Yamaha acoustic pianos. We also offer online courses via Zoom. For either option, you will need your own piano or keyboard at home to practice between lessons.

Our classes are taught by professional performers and practitioners, many of whom also teach at leading London universities and music conservatoires. Please refer to individual course outlines for individual staff biographies.

City Lit students have a proud history of learning piano skills from scratch as well as studying more advanced courses and preparing for advanced piano diplomas. We also frequently organise concerts and recitals in and around Central London.

As you browse our range of piano courses please remember that both complete beginners and returning students are equally welcome at City Lit and if you need help choosing the right level just email us: music@citylit.ac.uk
