Wicked - The hugely successful Broadway and international smash hit musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winne Holzman is being made into a feature film which will be in cinemas next year. Come and explore the highlights in several variations (solos, duets and ensemble numbers) at our friendly weekend workshop. 'No one mourns the wicked', 'The Wizard and I', 'One short day', 'Popular', 'Wonderful', 'For good', 'Dancing through life' and of course 'Defying gravity' are just some of the classic songs covered. There will be plenty of oppurtunities for solos over the course of the weekend.

Discover the fundamentals of fun, exploring what makes us laugh and what it means to be a clown. We’ll dive deep down into the funny bones of comedic genres that have lasted centuries and learn techniques in the physical style of comedy performance. No previous experience needed. Warning: a great deal of serious silliness will be had!

Your voice should be an extension of your character. This Sunday workshop offers accessible and empowering mind-body techniques to deepen your awareness and holistic connection to your voice so that the message you give out is true to your intention.

It provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in our studio theatre, over three consecutive and intensive Sundays. Suitable for beginners; following the course there will be the opportunity to volunteer to support short end of term performances to apply the skills learnt.

The course supports you with a tutor-editor to craft a pre-recorded radio programme or extended feature on a subject of your choice, mixing interview clips, music and sound effects into your own production. This weekend workshop will be delivered in the media studio.

Looking at a range of drama tools that can be used in therapeutic settings, you will explore aspects of Playback Theatre and Forum Theatre as methods for engaging with others. Character voices aren’t just for cartoons. Learn the tools and techniques you need to create new and unique character voices or to accurately imitate a historical or contemporary voice for animation, stage and screen. This course will be delivered in the media studio.

Unlock Shakespeares hidden physical language through the work of Lecoq, Meisner, Michel Chekhov and Grotowski as we discover a deeper, more physically rooted and emotionally driven connection with Shakespeares work. No experience is needed for this short intensive course however an openness to explore and to develop text and physical performance simultaneously is necessary.

Fine-tune your audio skills by performing in a BBC radio drama on this weekend workshop in the media studio. For those with lots of previous experience, either through courses or industry.

Working with an experienced theatre director, explore the multiple aspects of directing theatre productions, including rehearsal preparation, text analysis and research, collaborating with the design team, and techniques for getting the best performances from actors.
