This playful and creative mask course, suitable for students at any level, introduces you to the mask. You will be carefully guided to explore the principals and techniques required to bring a character to life, to create speech with the body and without the voice. Masks will be provided but why not bring along some different style outfits and a variety of hats with you, then you’ll have more to play with on the day.

Come and improve your vocal skills through voice production and speech exercises. Learn about self presentation, develop spontaneity and gain greater confidence by improving your communication skills in the workplace.

A dynamic and vibrant class that combines West African dance and music with some Contemporary dance influences. The movements, energy and music will leave you energised and rejuvenated.

Sonic or sound art is expression and creativity through sound, beyond the confines of music. Enjoy a series of creative exercises, with study and discussion of contemporary and historical context and practice, and create your own sound art.

How can the impact of what we hear and feel enhance our connection to our voices? Learning the skills of ‘quieter’ activities in such a loud, fast-paced world can result in improved wellbeing. Through body-mind connection and the use of vocal sounds, whispering, gestures, rhythms and touch, you can not only reset your nervous system, and better manage stress, but also find a deeper connection to your voice in this afternoon workshop.

Explore unarmed combat and develop a selection of moves to combine in to a choreographed sequence!



A well-executed fight scene can make stage combat look easy but, much like dancing, it must be intricately choreographed and extensively rehearsed, to provide that authentic feel while remaining safe. Suitable for everyone.

The course will cover basic techniques in Mime towards developing and creating worlds alongside opening your body up to expressionistic styles. Through technique and improvisational based classes we will play and explore some of the most renowned exercises in Mime and build on them. Engaging your imagination and developing your awareness of your body as a tool for theatre craft.

Learn how to express your physicality in a dynamic fashion and gain basic knowledge of the main principles of contemporary dance, with influences from other techniques. General level - suitable for both beginners and improvers.

Les Miserables - one of the worlds most popular musicals by Boubil, Kretzmer and Schönberg based on the Victor Hugo novel of the same name contains some of the most memorable repertoire from the 20th century musical theatre catalogue. Come and explore the highlights in several variations (solos, duets and ensemble numbers) at our friendly weekend workshop. "At the end of the day", "I dreamed a dream", "Empty chairs at empty tables", "Bring him home", "Master of the house" and "On my own" and "One day more" are just some of the classic songs covered. This Contemporary dance class is a dynamic and fun experience based on the principles of Release-technique and some playful explorations. Simple movement phrases and tasks are built upon to develop greater awareness of the body in space and in relation to others. Floor, centre and travelling exercises lead to efficiency of movement, rhythmical and free-flowing dance sequences.

Your voice should be an extension of your character. This Saturday workshop offers accessible and empowering mind-body techniques to deepen your awareness and connection to your voice so that the message you give out is true to your intention.

Engage all your senses to connect mind and body awareness while singing. Explore how the psyche affects how we relate to singing. This is a practical course for 8 meetings in the classroom for singers in all styles, not an academic study. No class on 6th May and 27th May.

Jacques Lecoq’s style of theatre training is in the body, it involves exploration of ourselves and the world we live in with a sense of curious play. Lecoq revolutionised the format of theatre craft and his style and techniques are recognised as essential tools to any professional working actor, in its most basic or grandest of themes. It is a style that hugs you warmly and sticks with you, adaptable and diverse.



The Lecoq technique is about the performers engagement, listening physically and their connection in the space, working together as an ensemble, devising your own work and finding new ways to do it are essential.

As the solo dance of the Swing family, Authentic Jazz is a blanket term for a number of popular dances from the 1920s and ‘30s – The Charleston, Tap, Black Bottom, Shimmy, Suzie-Q, and many more. Danced to Jazz and Swing music, and like the other styles of the same family, it is energetic and playful.
