City Lit offers performing arts courses in the heart of Covent Garden in Central London during the evening, daytime and at weekends.   3. Ukulele Concert Band

    You’ve had your uke for a while, been to jams in the pub, attended some ukulele courses, but what now? Join City Lit Ukulele Concert Band! Over 10 weeks we aim to transform your uke 'chops' and enthusiastic singing into a gigging band. On this course you will learn skills of band playing, have fun, and improve your techniques on uke and voice, playing and singing music from Lonnie Donnegan to Kylie Minogue with everything in between. The course culminates in a performance on 27 March.

    Jacques Lecoq’s style of theatre training is in the body, it involves exploration of ourselves and the world we live in with a sense of curious play. Lecoq revolutionised the format of theatre craft and his style and techniques are recognised as essential tools to any professional working actor, in its most basic or grandest of themes. It is a style that hugs you warmly and sticks with you, adaptable and diverse.



    The Lecoq technique is about the performers engagement, listening physically and their connection in the space, working together as an ensemble, devising your own work and finding new ways to do it are essential.

  7. World music mix: rhythm driven tunes from Brazil, Cuba, Ghana and Senegal

    We will play tunes from several traditions and two continents, working with complex rhythms in related and contrasting ways. There is a musical narrative that begins in Africa, travels to the Caribbean and South America, then back to Africa, carrying musical styles and rhythmic patterns. We will explore samples of this rhythmic timeline.
