City Lit offers performing arts courses in the heart of Covent Garden in Central London during the evening, daytime and at weekends.     Our ensemble for proficient jazz players to improve and maintain sight reading and section work, playing music from the classic era of Big Bands plus contemporary and original arrangements.     with the opportunity to read and sight read from standard notation and then to learn, and possibly memorise, the repertoire. This ensemble is for experienced jazz players.

    For vocalists with a sound technique and experience of jazz and latin styles. Develop your solo performance and expand your repertoire. Challenging repertoire and vocalese will be taught in live classes online, and you will be invited to research and contribute repertoire of your choice.

  8. Jazz harmony and ear training 1C

    Continue aural and academic study of form, root movement and harmonic progression, jazz chord types, intervals, scales and modes. Learn transcribed solos and participate in playing and improvisation sessions. For players with a working knowledge of jazz harmony. New students may contact music@citylit.ac.uk to arrange to be assessed for entry to this 3rd term of the year. Break week 3rd June.
