  2. The music of the Ballet Russes

    Get to know the music used and commissioned by the Ballet Russes from 1909-1929. This fascinating moment takes us from the 19th century Russian music of Borodin, Rimsky Korsakov and Tchaikovsky, through controversial neo-primitive like the Rite of Spring to the cool neoclassicism of Satie, Milhaud, Poulenc and Stravinsky.   3. Early music in the 20th century

  4. Acting: advanced

    Practise and develop your acting skills by rehearsing in depth scenes from contemporary plays or a whole short play. These will be performed in the college's John Lyons Theatre to an invited audience at the end of the course.     Learn to navigate music scores, analyse basic structures (harmonic, motivic, and contrapuntal), and identify late-eighteenth and nineteenth-century stylistic characteristics through the study of Schubert’s music, starting with earliest compositions and finishing with the late B-flat major Piano Sonata.

  9. Keyboard harmony in context: part D

    A practical workshop combining keyboard harmony and pianistic technique for classical pianists with a starting standard of grade 6. This advanced 6-module course is taught at the keyboard and takes a historical approach to harmony and technique.
