An inspirational floral demonstration of unique and skilfully created arrangements. These demonstrations will keep you captivated and energised through the beauty of flora and colour of imaginative displays by the award winning Flora Artist and National Plant Collector; Don Billington.



Phool Bangla, meaning the house of flowers, is an expression of love by devotees to the Lord Krishna. Literally speaking, a Phool Bangla is a summer house made of flowers.

What is the course about?

City Lits Indian season comes alive during an enjoyable afternoon of inspirational floral demonstration, accompanied by an Indian wine and beer tasting session. This demonstration of 3-4 skillfully arranged floral displays using a variety of indian flora and a range of materials, will encourage you to try it out at home or find more opportunities to study flower arranging in more depth. All attendees have the chance to win the display in a raffle and take it home to enjoy. May lady luck be with you! You’ll also be able to taste a wonderful variety of Indian beers and wines during the break, complements of the City Lit!

What will we cover?

• A beautiful variety of flora
• Exciting techniques
• Floral displays
• The organisation of NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arranging Societies), their motto is Fun, Friendship and Flowers and this class will be an entertaining session, too.
• Unusual Indian wines and beers.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

• Identify techniques
• Appreciate the art of display
• Name types of flora
• Dscover traditional Indian and other arrangements.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

It will be for all levels of flower arranging, to continue in the profession you will need appropriate qualifications to advance in Floral Design.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

It will be a visual demonstration and hopefully you will be inspired by the demonstration and take a course leading to a qualification and further employment in a new direction.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No additional cost, a camera to take photographs for future reference.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Join your local NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies), watch, learn and become more involved in flower arranging.
