What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
You should have completed grade 8 and ideally be of a Diploma ABRSM standard. Previous performing experience is essential. You need to be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English and engage in class discussions.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Classes are taught through group work, discussion and exchange of ideas/suggestions between class members. There will also be practical demonstration by the tutor. A regular practice routine is essential to progress at this level.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
Students should have access to a piano (acoustic or digital) for practice between classes and budget approximately £15 per term for scores. Music may be purchased new or second-hand. Suitable scores may also be available from IMSLP

Petros Moschos has appeared as soloist and chamber musician in Greece, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Spain, Switzerland, Israel, Ireland, Venezuela, Canada, USA and UK in various festivals and venues including St John's Smith Square and Soutbank Centre. Awards include the Lilan Davies Piano Prize (Royal Academy of Music) and the prestigious Mykoniou Prize (Athens Academy). Petros has been soloist with many international orchestras and has recorded for Greek and American TV, as well as BBC3, Czech, Israeli and Bavarian radios. His solo debut CD was released in 1999 followed by two piano-duo CDs co-produced by Bavarian Radio and Genuin Musikproduktions. Additionally, he collaborates with pianist Dimitris Karydis, and their team Duo Antithesis has been awarded top prizes in prestigious international competitions such as the Murray Dranof Competition (USA) Schubert Competition (Czech Republic), Bellini Competition (Italy), Donostia Hiria (Spain) and others. He studied in Athens and London (Royal Academy of Music and City Uiversity) where he gained qualifications up to doctoral level. He teaches piano workshops at City Lit.

Yekaterina Lebedeva is a concert pianist and professor of piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and at the Royal College of Music Junior Department. She graduated from the Kiev Tchaikovsky Conservatoire with Distinction in 1993. Soon after, she moved to London to establish a European base from which to develop her solo career further. In March 1998 she made a debut in the Purcell Room, invited to play as part of the Southbank Centre Young Musicians' Platform FRESH. Since then she has appeared regularly at the Southbank Centre and abroad, performing in important concert halls of Germany, France, India, Russia and the Middle East. Her students have won many international prizes as well as regularly perform at Wigmore Hall and broadcast on BBC radio 3, and two of her students were Lang Lang award winners and have played in the Royal Festival Hall at the “Lang Lang Inspires” concert and follow-up concerts. Yekaterina is the founder of Musical Odyssey Masterclasses held each summer in Greece.

Previous performing experience is essential. You need to be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English and engage in class discussions.</p>,You should have completed grade 8 and ideally be of a Diploma ABRSM standard. You need to be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English and engage in class discussions.<p>Classes are taught in masterclass format with up to 12 students in the group per term. You will be encouraged to participate in discussions and exchange of ideas with class members. There will also be practical demonstration by the tutor. A regular practice routine is essential to progress at this level.</p><p>Our advanced classes give regular performances in venues around the capital, including Steinway Hall, Yamaha Music London and St Paul's Church Covent Garden. </p>,Classes are taught through group work, discussion and exchange of ideas/suggestions between class members.
