What is the course about?

Podcasting, from concept to production. Your chance to develop your ideas into podcast, and get the opportunity to produce a sample of your work. This course gives you the essential insight into the podcasting landscape: structure, production and distribution.

What will we cover?

• Developing and structuring your podcasting ideas
• Identifying and targeting your audience
• Recording and editing a podcast sample using Audacity
• Exploring the sequence of recording, uploading and distributing your podcast through a variety of platforms and apps
• Keeping your podcasts fresh and vital.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

• Organise your ideas and put your vision into practice
• Take the first step - record a sample podcast in class in line with your thematic, explore Audacity and map out the next steps necessary to reach the stage of streaming in to the podcasting community
• Eevaluate the contents, tools and settings appropriate for your target audience
• Gain ideas and the motivation to develop your podcast further.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

For beginners with an interest in podcasting and a basic level of computer literacy.

In order to get the most from the course you will be able to:
• Speak English fluently
• Read and respond to a variety of text
• Give and receive constructive feedback.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

This is a practical course of coached sessions including group and solo activities, using appropriate technology.
