What is the course about?

To further improve students' near beginners knowledge of Polish in order to get by in real life situations.

What will we cover?

travel around the world, there is no place like home, restaurant-ordering food, everything hurts - doctor visit, we are going shopping.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- ask for directions

- ask for information when travelling - hotels, restaurants, museums

- describe houses, flats and apartments using furniture vocabulary

- have a chat with a doctor

- communicate when shopping.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

You should have completed Polish beginners: module 2 or have an equivalent level.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The course is based on the communicative approach:

- active students’ interaction
- emphasis on speaking and listening skills
- pair and group work
- role plays
- use of realia, pictures and authentic material
- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate

Please note, students are expected to participate in oral classroom activities and to do some homework as and when required.

Materials will be provided by the tutor and posted on google classroom.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Your tutor will advise you on what to do next. If there is enough interest, we would offer Polish 2: module 1.
