What is the course about?
The course aims to provide further knowledge and understanding of the Portuguese language and to develop skills. It also gives an insight into the culture and ways of life of Portuguese speaking countries.
What will we cover?
-Introduction to colloquial and formal language, development of oral and listening skills, reading, talks on specific topics to build confidence and explore the language.
Grammar: Consolidate tenses of the indicative, present subjunctive, imperfect subjunctive, prepositions, the gerund
Homework and written projects will be given for a complete integration of all skills.
What will I achieve?

Talk about future events
Use the passive voice
Discuss Portuguese speaking countries society and culture.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Students should be able to express themselves in the language fairly accurately, specially the use of present, future and the various forms of past tense and have studied Portuguese for at least two years.

You will also need to be able to respond to simple instructions and read course documents in English and be at ease with the use of number for daily activities (e.g using money, telling the time, etc).
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Communicative approach, contextualised presentation of the language, pair and group work, games for consolidation, pronunciation practice, choral and individual repetition.
