Now more than ever before we are communicating through the camera to host business meetings from home, building online brands through video marketing and remotely presenting to our clients and customers. This online course will give you the techniques to present confidently to camera and take your existing skills to the next level.

What is the course about?

An online interactive workshop including teaching, discussion, practical presenting and Q & A. Building your on screen confidence and learning the skills needed to present to camera for casual vlogging and more formal business videos.

What will we cover?

Overcoming nerves, body language, relaxation, vocal warm ups, clear diction, talking to camera in a natural and confident way, writing and memorising short scripts, evaluating performance, home recordings and equipment needed, how to structure an interview, being the interviewee.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

• Present confidently to camera
• Record yourself presenting to camera at home
• Conduct an interview/be interviewed.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is suitable for beginners.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Online presentations and discussion, practical exercises and presenting to camera within the class session and between sessions. You will receive helpful constructive comments from the Tutor, and peer feedback from the group.
There may be some weekly prep such as viewing and preparing scripts and a reading list will be supplied.

This course will be delivered online, and will involve tutor presentation and class discussion. Student preparation and homework outside class times is strongly encouraged. To fully participate in this online class you will need:
- An email address
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop/tablet with a fully updated browser (preferably google chrome). Your device will need a microphone, and preferably a camera.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

You will need a good broadband connectand the ability to record yourself talking to camera. A note pad and pen.

Kathryn Wolfe Tutor Website

Kathryn Wolfe is a highly experienced TV presenting coach who has taught a range of TV presenting courses at City Lit since 2005 and trained dozens of presenters who appear reguarly on TV and online. Formerly a BBC trained TV director with over 25 years TV directing experience, Kathryn was also Course Leader TV Production and Senior Lecturer Media Performance at University of Bedfordshire for 12 years. Kathryn has written two leading text books in this field: "So You Want to be a TV Presenter" (Nick Hern Books, 2010) and "The TV Presenter's Career Handbook" (Focal Press, 2014). Kathryn founded Pukka Presenting in 2003 to train presenters, and further info can be found on Pukka Presenting website and Instagram.
