What is the course about?

This revision and consolidation course refreshes your existing French and revisits the basics, preparing you to join an upcoming Level 2 course.

What will we cover?

You will explore: introducing yourself, talking about daily routines, and travel
You will revise: present‑tense regular and irregular verbs, pronouns, and past tenses

These outcomes are a guide and will be discussed with the tutor at the start of the course.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

  • Talk about yourself and others
    (par exemple : « Je m’appelle Marie, j’habite à Londres. » / « Il travaille dans un bureau. »)

  • Use present‑tense verbs confidently
    (par exemple : « Je travaille », « nous mangeons », « ils vont au cinéma »)

  • Talk about your daily routine in the present and the past
    (par exemple : « Je commence le travail à 9 heures. » / « Hier, j’ai commencé le travail à 9 heures. »)

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is not aimed at beginners. You will need to have studied French in the past (GCSE, O'level or equivalent). This course will enable you to refresh your French to be able to progress to our main provision soon.

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
