What will we cover?
In the second part of this course students will learn about the main genres of the Russian paintings, familiarize themselves with well-known Russian painters of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century, such as Repin, Levitan, Savrasov and many others from the group of “Wanderers”, as well and the works of the Russian avant-guard and world famous painters Malevich, Chagall and others.

This course involves listening to and reading a lecture (available on-line), using video and audio files, discussions, there will be some task-based and project-based assignments.
Homework will be set every week, which students should be willing and able to do in order to benefit fully from the course.

Eugeniya is a Russian teacher who lived most of her life in Moscow. She holds a degree in language teaching from Moscow State University as well as a PGCE. She has also trained to be a language teacher at City Lit. Eugeniya has taught Russian at all levels in a wide range of institutions including secondary schools, London universities and various language centres and agencies. She enjoys teaching adults who need Russian for travelling, communicating with friends or who would like to learn about Russian history, politics and literature. Her passions are languages, literature, art, and travelling.
