What is the course about?
Learning how to chant in the authentic way, following the Taittiriya School of the Yajur veda. Focus is on proper pronunciation of Sanskrit for the chanting of Vedic mantras. Each module is distinguished by the complexity of the text taught.
What will we cover?
This is an experiential course. The focus will be on phonology in practice. Theoretical inputs are minimal, but sufficient to give proper context to the course.

Independently chant the Upanishad, or the sukta which is taught during the course.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
It would help if you have attended module 1 of Vedic chanting Intermediate at City Lit.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Actual chanting in class under the close guidance of a teacher. You will be expected to practice on your own for at least 15-20 minutes every day, for which audio recordings will be provided to you.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
