What is the course about?
Is professional photography the career you've been looking for? This course will help you answer this question by planning your business, recognising your strengths and weaknesses, and making you aware of the pitfalls and how to avoid them. We will discuss the areas that are currently making money in photography, and those that are less lucrative. You will learn about business planning and basic book-keeping as well as getting useful tips on the best places to get the correct insurance, and the most beneficial professional institutes to join.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is an introductory course, but a basic understanding of photographic and business terminology would be helpful (though not essential). You will also need to have basic computer skills such as mouse control and how to save and load images.
You will need be able to follow written and verbal instructions, hand-outs and health and safety information and will be invited to take part in group discussion.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You will be taught using lectures, demonstrations, notes, guided exercises and group and individual assistance
We will be shooting both inside and outside the classroom with and without flash.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
You will need to bring a note pad (digital or paper based) to record your own notes and a memory stick to save your work on.
