This intensive course is suitable if you have studied Spanish for 2 years in the past and would like to join one of our Spanish 2 upper courses. You will review any language points necessary to join one of our main provision courses in this one-week revision course and you will feel ready for Spanish 2 upper: module 1 starting in the new term.

What is the course about?

This intensive course helps you get ready for your third year of Spanish. It will help you revise the main points of grammar and vocabulary that will have been seen in Spanish 2 lower.

What will we cover?

Topics: holidays, personal experiences, free time, invitations, advice and instructions, past habits, plans and intentions


Grammar: simple past, present perfect and imperfect tense, present continuous tense, comparatives, object pronouns, the imperative, the future

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- talk about your plans and invite people
- make comparisons
- speak about your experiences
- say what you have and haven’t done
- describe events in the past
- say where you went on holiday last year, what you did and when
- say what you used to do and what people were like in the past
- give instructions.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Suitable if you have completed 'Spanish 2 lower' or have an equivalent knowledge of the language (two years of study). This is a revision course so students will revise and consolidate the main points of elementary Spanish.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material. Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Diego Iudicissa

Diego is a Spanish teacher from Argentina with a passion for languages, arts and travelling. He has lived and taught in many cities including Buenos Aires, Madrid, Moscow and London. He has experience teaching all levels at a variety of institutions including universities, adult education colleges and government organisations. Diego has a degree in Social Communication and a postgraduate degree in Politics. He has also completed studies in drama and is a drama practitioner currently delivering workshops in community theatre. As well as drama, he enjoys reading and travelling.
