What is the course about?
This course aims to give students an opportunity to consolidate the basic structures of Spanish and then to extend their knowledge to include more complex grammatical structures and functions. It will also give an insight into cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries.
This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.

What will we cover?
Topics: work; biographies and CVs; cities of the future, environment, current affairs, customs and habits at work.
Grammar: quantifiers, impersonals, structures to express obligation, prohibition, simple past, imperfect, phrasal verbs (empezar a, acabar de, volver a, etc.), simple future.
What will I achieve?

- Give opinions about the future of cities, environment, education
- Talk about facts and events in your life with increased fluency.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Students should have completed Spanish 2 upper, studied Spanish for 3 years recently or have an equivalent level.

It is also essential that you have some knowledge of basic grammar terminology such as: a verb, a noun and conjugation. It would be helpful if you had knowledge of more intermediate grammar terminology such as: prepositions, direct and indirect pronouns, subjunctive, main and subordinate clauses.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Adriana holds a qualification to teach adults. She has worked as a Spanish tutor in educational institutions such as City Lit; Bishopsgate Institute; Morley College, UK Government departments as DEFRA, and for agencies tutoring private students for well-known organizations namely BBC, Arthur & Gallagher, AON, AHJ, among others. She got a degree in Anthropology from the Central University of Venezuela. A career in which she developed her knowledge and passion about Languages and Culture. Additionally, back in her country she worked in cultural research in the publishing area, events organization and organizational structure.
