Tutors: Laila ShariffThe City & Guilds (6502) Award in Education and Training (blended) is an initial teacher training course ideal for anyone who teaches adult learners (or has some experience of teaching) in the Further Education and Adult and Community Learning sectors. We may also accept you if you have not taught before but have related work or voluntary experience. You will be asked to attend 4 Saturdays and 1 weekend - Saturdays: 23 and 30 Sept, 4 and 11 Nov; Saturday and Sunday: 2 and 3 Dec. Please note this course will be online except sessions 4 and 5 on 11 Nov and 2 Dec. You may also be asked to come in on 3rd Dec.

Practise storytelling, having conversations and presenting information to others in an unhurried and friendly class. This course will help you get become confident in your everyday communication including reading and writing. We will focus on topics that interest you and use these to help you improve the key elements of reading and writing as well as communication skills to enable you to express your thoughts and feelings including in difficult situations. You will learn to how write whole sentences and paragraphs, use adjectives effectively, organise your writing, make notes and complete drafts, spell important common words, use punctuation correctly and develop reading and writing strategies most suited to you. And you will learn some digital skills including reading and finding information from websites. This course has no exams.
