    This course will help you get become confident in your everyday communication including reading and writing. We will focus on topics that interest you and use these to help you improve the key elements of reading and writing as well as communication skills to enable you to express your thoughts and feelings including in difficult situations. You will learn to how write whole sentences and paragraphs, use adjectives effectively, organise your writing, make notes and complete drafts, spell important common words, use punctuation correctly and develop reading and writing strategies most suited to you.   12. Access to HE diploma: humanities and social science (evenings)

    Round 2 Applications for the 2020/21 cohort are now open. Please click "start assessment" to access the application form. The deadline for applications is midday on Friday, July 24th 2020.



    Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed online from July 27-30th and will be notified of their interview time on a rolling basis. All candidates are advised to apply early.



    The Access to Higher Education Diploma (Humanities and Social Science) is a qualification designed for anyone who has left school without the usual qualifications (GCSEs or A-levels) and wishes to study at university.



    It is a highly intensive, fast-track route to higher education, where you will complete the equivalent of 3 A-Levels in one year, and requires attendance two nights per week (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 6-9.15pm, as well as tutorials every two weeks (from 5pm) and substantial private study. These dates and times are non-negotiable and you are required to attend every session.



    Due to the course's intensity, priority will be given to applications from those who are serious and sure about progressing to degree level study and are ready to take on the intense challenge that the year will bring.

    The course fee is £2823, plus an upfront fee of £199 payable at the time of your enrolment.

    If you’re unable to pay the course fee upfront, you can choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to help cover the cost. The Advanced Learning Loan is written off on completion of a Higher Education degree course. You can find more information about the Advanced Learner Loan www.citylit.ac.uk/advanced-learner-loans

  14. Award in education and training for lipreading teachers
