  1. The City Lit 7-day intensive course for adults who stammer

    Learn strategies to help you speak more easily, work on becoming less sensitive about stammering (also known as stuttering), reduce avoidance strategies and be introduced to mindfulness.   10. Reading for Pleasure for Deaf people (intermediate)

    The aim of this course is to develop deaf people’s reading skills in a friendly and supportive environment. During this course you will read various articles (newspapers/magazines) and stories / novels. You will also be discussing your reading materials in BSL, learning new vocabulary and exploring the structure of English. Translating from English to BSL and summarising texts will be a large part of the sessions. This course is suitable if you have achieved and/or have been assessed at English Entry 2 and/or English Entry 3 level. This course has no exams.

  11. Level 2 certificate in health and social care

    Health and social care is the treatment of health and medical conditions in hosptials, health centres and in the community and social care is the care and support of vulnerable people. The Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of the core areas in health and social care. This is ideal for those who are interested in health and social care and new to or returning to education, or not sure what direction they would like to take in this area.

  14. Level 1 ECDL award in IT user skills for Deaf people

    Are you new to word processing, spreadsheets and presentations? Join this course and learn how to use the most important basic features of Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2016. This course will give you the confidence to use the programs independently as well as follow your studies to a higher level. By the end of the course you will have improved your skills and gained a qualification, Level 1 ECDL award in IT user skills.

    This course is FREE if one of the following applies:





    a) You are employed and earn less than £20,572.50 . You need to have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years and be a citizen of the UK or a country within the EU.   15. Level 6 in BSL - part 1 (language development)

    This course is the language development part of the level 6 in BSL. Ideal if you have passed level 3 in BSL and you want to develop your skills up to the appropriate standard for progression to a level 6 qualification.
